- Apparently the author of C-Manual 4 didn't actually do any proofreading. I
- thought it was only two, but here's the list of files in the CM4 package
- which will crash AmigaGuide:
-
- Contents.guide
- Miscellaneous.guide
- --crash on the "main" node
- Handlers.guide
- AdvancedRoutines.guide
- BufferedIO.guide
- FileFunctions.guide
- Files.guide
- ParsingCommandLine.guide
- --crash on secondary internal nodes
-
- Honestly, I'm sure the author of this work knows fifty times more than I
- about C programming. But when you ask people to pay fifty dollars for
- something like this, it had better be perfect. And crashing AmigaGuide
- because of sloppy coding is *not* acceptable. If a program had this many
- bugs, causing it to crash on this many different features, it could barely
- be described as an alpha.
-
- And let's not even get into the fact that this is *documentation* that
- requires no less than 13 assigns and 2 aliases. And we won't even talk
- about how it wastes scads of disk space by duplicating every example
- program as a plain text listing and and AmigaGuide document, even though
- there aren't any links or other AG commands in them--the only thing that
- makes them AmigaGuide documents is the @database, @node, and @endnode
- commands in them. AmigaGuide *can* link to plain text files.
-
- Fifty dollars?
